A group of people, mostly young, in an airline crash end up on a desert island where many strange things begin happening to them. No it's not Lost, it's The New People, a short-lived series which aired in 1969-70 for 17 episodes and bore a strong resemblance to the hit series which would premiere more than 30 years later. The series was also unique in that it ran for 45 minutes instead of the normal 30 or 60 minutes. Rod Serling of Twilight Zone fame was the developer of the show but played no role in the series once it got on the air.
