On an Earth colony on Mars, La Farge and his wife Anna sleep. Anna has a nightmare and La Farge wakes her up. He admits that they were both having the same dream, and miss the rain on Earth. La Farge goes to the window and looks out the window at the Martian rain, and then asks her about their son Tom. Anna insists they should have brought him with them, but La Farge notes that Tom has been dead for five years, but is in their hearts. She admits that she misses driving to her son's grave and talking to him, but La Farge says that there's nothing they can do and nothing more to say...Read the full recap
Episode Notes
Based on the Ray Bradbury short story "The Martian" also known as "Impossible". This story was first published in Super Science Stories (November 1949).

Analysis
Changes from the short story:
* Tom is a 14-year-old boy in the short story, but a much older teenager/college student in the episode.
* There is no energy-ball F/X for Tom in the short story.
* The last line, where Anna is seemingly happy that they had "Tom" for a while even though it cost the Martian its life, is only in the episode.
* The story has everyone traveling via canal boats. They're dropped from the episode, presumably due to budgetary constraints.
