The four survivors of a downed spacecraft find themselves stranded on an alien planet undergoing colonization. The planet suffers from torrential and continual downpours. Their commander, Trask, uses the homing unit, nicknamed Christopher, to plot a course to the nearest Sun Dome, eight miles away and placed by automated probes. Based on the Ray Bradbury short story "The Long Rain" also known as "Death-by-Rain". This story was first published in Planet Stories (Summer, 1950).

Analysis
Changes from the short story:
* The setting is moved from Venus to a planet outside the Solar System, accounting for the fact that the men can breathe. On Venus, that would be impossible.
* Only Simmons is named in the story. Trask and Cooper have no names in the story, and Boltz was named Pickard in the story.
* The episode features a brief dream sequence at the end, to some degree creating an omitted scene where the stranded men find a ruined Sun Dome exposed to the constant rain.
