In order to preserve good relations with Protestant German states, Lord Chancellor Thomas Cromwell arranges for Henry's marriage to Anne of Cleves. Unfortunately for all concerned, Anne is on the plain side in the looks department and her personality is not compatible with Henry's. But unlike predecessor Anne Boleyn, Anne of Cleves does not lose her head. She successfully negotiates an annullment with Henry and it's Cromwell who ends up getting his block knocked off. | | There are no foreign summaries for this episode: Contribute |
