Detective Constable Robert Kray [Series One], played by Kevin Allen (1)
Intelligent and funny, Kray is nevertheless a chauvinist. His inability to embrace political correctness coupled with his base humour makes him almost a guilty pleasure to laugh at. The fact that his ideas are so inane serves to emphasize the stupidity of Grim, who usually accepts and praises those ideas.
Also, his mannerisms and appearance shows how horrible and ineffectual the CID is in Gasforth. More often than not, the most important thing to Kray, and what he spends most time doing, is eating. While others are trying to crack cases, he’s ordering take away. His perpetual eating and ‘unibrow’ certainly make him a sight to behold. |
