After overcoming a battle of nerves, Ike and Corabeth get married. While this is occurring, Erin feels she doesn't know where she belongs in the family since she is the middle child. They meet up again when they are getting tutored by their chemistry professor to understand the material and Sis ultimately takes John Boy's notes when his back is turned. After she is done looking at John Boy's notes, she then brings them back to him on the mountain, complete with a gift of a new tire for his car. However, once she arrives, she slips John Boy's notes into Danny's backpack, resulting in his father accusing him of stealing it from John Boy. Upon hearing what he had to say, the Walton's decide to call off the Shivaree they planned, but fail to tell Ike and Yancy about the call off. Also, upon hearing that a publisher is interested in one of John Boy's stories, the Baldwin sisters ask him to read the story to them, since it is based on the romance between Ashley Longworth and Miss Emily.
