When A.J. Covington, an old writing friend of John Boy, comes to the mountain for a visit, a movie company is in the middle of filming a screenplay that John Boy wrote.
After watching several scenes being filmed, several people begin making fun at how the characters are talking in the various scenes. When John Boy asks the film makers if he could rewrite the scenes to the way the people talk more authentic, he gets fired. Upon hearing about that, A.J. invited John Boy to go to New York with him, and the young man has to decide whether to leave the mountain or stay behind.
Meanwhile, back on the movie set, Mary Ellen develops a crush on one of the men working behind the scenes. Also the Walton's and the rest of world are following the abdication of the King of England on the radio. Share this article with your friends
