The Burn Out (1) - Recap

When John Boy is given the chance to submit part of his novel to a magazine, it is destroyed when a fire consumes the Walton family's house.

After the fire is contained, Olivia decides it would be for the best if the children stayed with friends while they rebuild their home.

In the following days, as the children are staying with the neighbors, they find that it is hard to be separated from their parents with Jason living in the lap of luxury at the Baldwin’s, Ben living with the unruly Yancy, Erin and Jim Bob staying with Reverend Fordwick and his wife, Elizabeth staying with the Godsey's, and Mary Ellen staying at Dr. Vance's house, reveling in the opportunity to learn about medicine. However, it isn't long until both Erin and John Boy begin blaming themselves for what happened.

It wasn't until the house got rebuilt that the children realized how happy they are to be back together under one roof.
