Curt's sister comes to visit and soon drops a bombshell that she left her husband to pursue a singing career. When Jason stops by to meet Vanessa one day, a friendship is soon forged between them, thanks to their shared interest in music. When she is singing one night with Jason's band at the Dew Drop Inn, a well known singer arrives with his manager and decides to leave with them, ultimately breaking Jason's heart. Also, seeing that the circulation of The Blue Ridge Chronicle isn't growing, Ben and John Boy decide to print some of Grandpa's stories inside the paper.
