Episode Summary

When John Boy learns from Olivia about how bad the job situation is on Walton’s Mountain, he promptly returns to write an article regarding what’s happening. Upon his arrival home, John Boy sets up a meeting with Mr. Guthrie, the owner of a local mine to discuss the possibility of reopening the mine to give the men on the mountain jobs. When things are arranged to repair the mine to make it safer, a cave-in occurs; leaving many men trapped underneath the rubble and John Boy looking for people to help save them.
