When Zuleika Dunbar begins to monopolize the time of her boyfriend Stanley, Rose gets extremely jealous. Things for Rose get worse when Zuleika makes fun of her weight, causing Rose to go on a diet, only to put Rose is a grouchy mood. At this point, Erin, Elizabeth, and Mary Ellen decide to help cheer Rose up by making a dress she likes from Ike’s store in her size. Her new dress, along with the sweet words from Stanley soon gets Rose back to her happy self.
Meanwhile, John Boy finds himself back at Boatwright University, this time looking for a job as a teacher. However, when he learns about no positions available, Dean Beck suggests that John Boy write a proposal to the University’s board of directors on why starting a television program at the school would be a good idea, he might be able to teach in the new program. Having a hard time thinking of what to say in his proposal, John Boy soon finds inspiration from John Curtis, who wanted to show his uncle one of his picture books, giving John Boy the chance to tell the board that through television, people can share various stories with people all around the country.
As Boatwright’s board of directors ultimately agrees to start the new program, the Walton family is able to watch John Boy’s presentation at home, on a television set that Jim Bob made. Share this article with your friends
