The Young Rebels

The Young Rebels

A group of young people in 18th century Chester, PA form the Yankee Doodle Society, a loose knit group of spies and saboteurs who aide the American cause during the American Revolution. They cross paths with General Lafayette, who is only twenty years old and sometimes joins in their missions. The show's best known actor was future Academy Award winner Louis Gossett, Jr. who played freed slave Isak Poole. Unfortunately for The Young Rebels, it was up against the likes of Lassie, Hogan's Heroes, and Wonderful World of Disney and only lasted for 15 episodes until ABC pulled the plug.
