Following the disastrous Battle of Brandywine, General Lafayette recruits three young patriots and a freed slave to retrieve 18 cannons captured by the British in the battle.

The British have decided to remove the Liberty Bell and have it melted down but the young rebels devise a plan to save the national symbol of liberty and take it into hiding.

When Isak is wounded on a mission, the young rebels sneak into a British encampment and abduct a British physician to treat their comrade's wounds.

A detachment of Hessian soldiers arrive in Chester and take hostages. Their commander, Major Zanker, demands that the townspeople come forward with the identity of the Continental Army spy code-named "Yankee Doodle." Unknown to Zanker one ot the hostages is the man he's looking for--Jeremy Larkin.

When his brother is killed by the British, young Tad Garrett blames Jeremy and decides to kill him to avenge his sibling.

An explosion traps the young rebels inside an abandoned mine with four British soldiers.

Composer William Billings plays a key role in a mission to destroy a battery of British cannon.

Henry is arrested for acts of sabotage against the British committed by his cousin and is sentenced to hang. This leaves Jeremy, Isak, and Lafayette to organize a rescue.

The young rebels take in three newcomers to their ranks but when a mission goes awry it's obvious that one of the three is a British plant.

Isak is reunited with his long lost brother Pompey. Unfortunately for the two siblings, Pompey has been working for the British and is scheduled to be shot as a spy. To save his brother's life, Isak decides to go against his friends.

On a mission into Philadelphia, Jeremy is unaware that the spy he's supposed to protect is actually a double agent.
