Monica, now a rookie cop, is put on the case of helping Zack, a police officer that it now returning to the force after being fully rehabilitated from a gunshot wound. Zack's old partner, Ben, is extremely upset because Zack has asked for a new partner when he returns. While out combing the streets, Monica helps Zack bust a drug dealer, Mason, but Zack unexpectedly steals all of the drugs to keep for himself. Zack misses Mason's preliminary hearing, and a now free Mason assaults a teenage girl. Monica learns that Zack lives in constant fear because of his experience with the injury, and she reveals herself to him later giving him the strength to set everything straight.
