Still in the assisted living home, Tess has become unresponsive as her Alzheimer’s has progressed. As Monica, Gloria, and Andrew try to find a way to get Tess to sing again, Monica gets a new assignment to help an old friend in Joseph Wells. Upon her arrival in town, Monica soon finds Kevin and his foster son Nathan on the day Nathan’s adoption is finalized. Things don’t go as planned when Nathan’s mother shows up to contest the adoption, ultimately breaking Kevin’s heart, especially when he finds out that Monica knows Hannah. Later, when Kevin and Nathan go see Tess, Kevin introduces Nathan to his mother and the three of them get to know one another. Through the course of their visit, both Kevin and Monica realize that they need to hand over their difficult situations to God so God can help resolve their conflicts.
