Although never seen or heard from directly, he nevertheless maintains a strong position in Keeping Up Appearances. Quite frequently he calls his mummy for little conversation and to ask daddy for the odd 50 quid.
Through what others say, we know that he is currently studying quantity surveying at a polytechnic, but he usually prefers courses about needlework as opposed to maths. His life is a colourful one and he always keeps himself busy with his friend Tarquin, who has prizes for embroidery, wears silk pyjamas, and sews his own curtains. Despite the fact that Hyacinth is either oblivious to it, or wishes not to face it, Sheridan is most likely gay, at least stereotypically, such as his lilac coloured car.
Lastly, he is indirectly the bane of many people's existence, since Hyacinth makes sure no one can stand the boy. She talks endlessly about his achievements, however minor they may be, driving most people insane . . . and that\'s before the eight photo albums they have to sit through. |
