Vash has destroyed the car that Meryl, Milly, and he had been travelling in. To make up for it, he becomes their vehicle, transporting them on his shoulders through the hot sun. As they head towards their destination, Legato Bluesummers, the man who had tried to have Vash killed once before ("DIABLO"), sits down to a meal of pancakes and waits for his quarry to arrive.
