Episode Quotes
Marty: Gettin' so you can't shoot a cannon down the street without hittin' a new settler.

Courtney: (to Ramsey) Mr. Lincoln freed the slaves before you Rebs murdered 'em.

Ramsey: The war's over. Don't he realize it.?
Flint: Some people's wars are never over.

Courtney: I didn't send for you, Reverend Butler.
Butler: Yes, I know you didn't, Ben. That's why I came.

Marty: (to Courtney) Your own hatred is bad enough but how long are you gonna force decent people to back you up?

Flint: A lawman that hates too much isn't too good of a lawman.

Nora: I can't help you.
Flint: If you can't, who on earth can?

Analysis
Take note of Philip Pine's performance in this episode. He's not your stereotypical thug deputy blindly following the orders of his bigoted sheriff. He actually has a conscience and a heart.
