Robert Fuller would later join the cast of the series playing scout Cooper Smith for the show's final two seasons. Unfortunately, there is no on-screen meeting of Fuller and predecessor Robert Horton because Horton is absent from this episode.

Part of this episode takes place in Dodge City, the locale of Gunsmoke. It's a shame the two shows aired on rival networks because it would have been nice to see cameos from Matt Dillon, Doc, and Miss Kitty.

Adams: Those Swedes are fine people but by golly they can get bull-headed at times.

Adams: These country doctors are only good to set bones and deliver babies.

Adams: (to Ella) You and your children are gonna drive me to drink and that's the best idea I've had in days.

Bartender: (to Wooster) Don't you know that bartenders are sworn to secrecy just like a doctor?

Fitz: Will you do me a favor, Major Adams?
Adams: I'll do nothing unless you change your manner.
