Bevins: Are you Christopher Hale?
Hale: Have been for many years.

Hale: It's not easy to refuse you.
Bevins: Frankly, I'm hoping you find it impossible.

Job: Pop, why do you always smell more than me?
Bevins: Because I see through my nose, that's why.

Bevins: (to Hale) The terrible thing about being blind is not the darkness of the world we live in but the darkness of those around us.

Hale: Charlie's stews are always a mystery to me. He never says what's in 'em.

Jane: Even a man who can see is willing to accept help.
Bevins: A man who can see doesn't have to prove anything.

Jed: I can smell out money like a man with a divining rod can smell out water.

Hale: Charlie, you worry too much about other people's business.
Wooster: I don't have any of my own.

Hale: (to Bevins) If you wanna be like other men, you're gonna have enemies like other men.

Wooster: Don't you ever get curious about anything?
Hale: I do but I fight it.
