For the first of many Season Five episodes, Robert Horton is absent. Horton had already informed the show's producers that he would not re-sign his contract at season's end so they decided to gradually phase him out of the series.
This episode takes place in 1868.
Willard Waterman is best known for playing The Great Gildersleeve on radio and television.
Clementine: (to the townspeople) You're making a public spectacle of me and I don't like it.
Hale: Every time I hit this town a barn falls on me.
Homer: You're an outlaw.
Willie: That's kind of a hard way of puttin' it, Homer.
Clementine: How's your head?
Willie: Never better. It feels so good I can hardly stand it.
Homer: How'd you get into reform school?
Willie: Just comes natural. When you're born worthless it isn't hard to think of ways to get into reform school.
Clementine: Bad enough travelin' with an outlaw without him bein' a messy one.
Clementine: (to Willie) You sure were behind the barn door when the brains were passed out.
