Episode Notes
Leif Erickson would soon be cast as the patriarch of a band of good guys on the NBC Western The High Chaparral.

Patricia Lyon was Mrs. Robert Fuller at the time this episode was filmed.

David Carradine would go onto co-star in Kung Fu. This was his first television acting role.

The storyline in this episode is very similar to that of Old Man Charvannaugh Story which aired in Season Two.

Episode Quotes
Coop: (to Bancroft) I thought I smelled something wrong about you.
Adam: You got smart too late, Smith.

Emily: Show some mercy.
Bancroft: I don't have none, ma'am. Good folks like you burned it out of me a long time ago.

Coop: Get up, Mason, or so help me I'll leave you here.

Coop: Are you pullin' rank on me? Are you orderin' me not to go?
Hale: I'm tryin' to get you to think with your mind not your hate.

Bancroft: (to Noah) If it meant livin' or dyin' I'd do everything I done 17 years ago over again.

Bancroft: You figure I got a real black soul, don't you?
Noah: No blacker than mine.

Bancroft: When good folks think they're right they'll do anything.

Analysis
Basically the same storyline as Old Man Charvanaugh Story which aired in Season Two. Pretty much the same result. The original fell flat in spots and so does this one.
