The show went from 90 minutes in length during its previous season back to 60 minutes for its eighth and final season. It also returned to its original black and white format after being shown in color for Season 7.
In Season 8, Michael Burns was billed in the opening credits instead of the ending ones like the previous season.
In this episode we learn that Cooper Smith was a hired gun in his younger days.
Cooper: Hello, Stuart. I see you stopped wearing that license for murder.
Stuart: After half a lifetime of handling other people's problems, calling on the law is something I'll have to get used to.
Janice: (about Stuart) It took me five years to convince him that bein' an old maid was worse than waitin' at home.
Felix: (to Stuart) We're just two boys tryin' to work our way and lead a clean life from now on.
Stuart: Mind if we clear up a few things?
Coop: I mind breathin' the same air as you.
Stuart: You've gotten older in the past ten years, Smith, but not much wiser.
