| Grace: Towers of Silence in India, it's uhh, it's where the Parsi bury their dead or don't bury their dead, actually.
Spence: What do they do?
Grace: They carry the corpses to these towers, which are stone, and in the centre there's a pit. They lay the corpses around the pit for the vultures. Now the Parsis believed that the dead are in a dangerous state of inpurity so they can't pass through soil or fire to the other world for fear of polluting the earth.
Boyd: The ultimate ecological religion. |
| |
| Boyd visits the freight terminal, apparently at London Heathrow Airport. In the background, a Ryanair plane can be seen on the tarmac - Ryanair do not fly into or out of London Heathrow Airport.
