WCW Thunder

WCW Thunder

"WCW Thunder" premiered on 8 January 1998 as a 2 hour wrestling event. It first showed taped wrestling evens from Tueday nights and aired them on Thursday nights on TBS. On 12 January 2000 Thunder moved to Wednesday nights because the WWE had debuted their new show "Smackdown" on Thursday nights on UPN. Thunder then began taping its' matches on Monday nights after the live airing of "WCW Monday Nitro" at the same venue. Some of the bigger names seen on Thunder were Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, Dusty Rhodes, Goldberg, Hollywood Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Lex Luger, Ric Flair, Scott Hall and Sting. After 4 years the show then was canceled when the WWE bought out WCW with the final episode airing on 21 March 2001.
