"Wind at My Back" is a family drama set during the Great Depression of the 1930s. The series opens as Honey and Jack Bailey lose their hardware store in Northern Ontario. Unable to find a job, Jack is forced to take his family to his hometown of New Bedford, where his domineering mother owns and runs the Silver Dome Mine. When tragedy strikes, the small family finds itself struggling to stay together. The show follows Honey and her two sons Hub and Henry as they try to remain strong and hopeful even as their world falls apart around them. They meet May Bailey, Jack's controlling mother who blames Honey for taking Jack away from the family business. They also get to know Grace Bailey, Jack's unmarried sister who yearns to have a life free from her mother. The show ran for five seasons and was produced by Kevin Sullivan, who is most famous for his movie adaptation of "Anne of Green Gables" and the television series "Road to Avonlea".
