W.I.O.U.

A realistic and revealing series. It exposes to the open public opinion the power of television as a mass medium and lets the public learn who is really behind it and who is indeed holding that power. John Shea is Hank Zaret, the news director. Helen Shaver, Harris Yulin and Mariette Hartley co-star. In fact, "W.I.O.U." takes to the small screen what the current society is and its tremendous capacity to generate all kind of facts and informations, the way they collide among themselves, and its ultimate consequences. On the other hand, the series doesn't exclude those clashes of personal nature among those who work with the news in front or behind the cameras of a huge news television station that, with its electronic tentacles, puts in vertiginous contact the planet, from an end to another. The station had so many financial quandaries that the crew dubbed it WIOU.
