Episode Notes
This episode is the series finale; a season 5 is not in production.

We get a future look at the X-men.

Magneto and most of the brotherhood join the X-men.

In the original 1992 X-men cartoon, the Prof. died in the series finale, but that did not happen in this series, however, that might be because this is early in X-men life.

Ascension was the name of Batman Beyond's first season finale. That show also aired on the same network.

Greg Johnson, who worked on this series, will be working on a new X-men cartoon.

Quick Silver and Scarlet Witch joining Shield is a homage to their Ultimate Comic-book counterparts. In the Ultimate Comics, they are members of the Ultimates, a division of Shield.

If there was another season, Apocalypse would have returned.

Season Five would have had Jean turn into Phoenix, like seen in Professor X's vision.

A season five might have also meant some re-designs.

Episode Quotes
Professor X.: (to the X-men) Many challenges still await us. But I have seen some who were our enemies become friends. And with a heavy heart, I saw the dearest of friends become the most terrible of enemies. I saw my X-Men grow and change and of course, I saw that some people never change. But one thing was clear, that no matter what awaits us, terrible or wondrous... my X-Men will always be there, ready. And of that, I am proud.

Professor X: (to the X-men) to you all, we have averted catastrophe. It was not without its price, however. But steel is forged through fire, and like it we have been made stronger. We are prepared for what the future brings. I know this, because I have glimpsed into the mind of Apocalypse.

Wolverine: (to All) Everything you've ever learned about yourselves, your strengths, and your limits... it all comes down to this very moment. We're the world's last, best hope to stop this madman.

Episode Goofs
We don't learn how far into the future the Professor's vision goes.
