Much Better Then AverageRating: 5 likes, 2 dislikes
When I first heard of the show I passed it by. The concept didn't seem all that interesting to me. Then recently my son started watching the show and I started to watch it too. I found surprisingly better then I thought it would be. It was silly and cute, the colors are bright, the storyline not so serious and the characters interesting. It also had decent amount of cartoon action that is a combination of old-time slapstick and Kung-Fu high jinx.

The characters are actually amazingly original and have a decent amount of depth for a show meant for youngsters. I do believe this the first time I have ever seen a Brazilian character in a television show, let alone be such a crucial character as the series goes on. But then again all the characters are like that. They are original takes on old standbys. And the first villain and sometimes ally is truly the most fun character. Every time he screams you feel the need to giggle. Some of the funniest moments involve him in some way.

The humor of the show, from the names of the Shen Gong Wu to the sight gags also make the show fun to watch. True some of the gags are on the puerile side, and there is the occasional underwear joke, but it isn't overwhelming and it is appealing to a young audience. What's funnier to an 8 -year-old boy then underwear? The dialog is fast paced however, and this is what appeals to the older audience.

The art and animation are also both original and well done and the music is not memorable but is suitable for the show and does not stand out.

Now this show will not appeal to everybody, especially those who expect deep story lines and high art, but it is very good for what it's intended to be: a light-hearted Kung-Fu comedy. It is definitely a show that deserves a second look.
