Season 1 |
| 1 :01x01 - The Graduate (Oct/12/2005) | Daughter Angela is graduating from high school, and Run plans to reward her for being a straight-A student and the family's "role model" by throwing her a party.
Angela dreams of a blowout with Funkmaster Flash as DJ, iPod goodie bags and a glass dance floor over the backyard pool. Run on the other hand wants a simple (and cheap) "hot dogs on the grill" barbeque. Their battle of wills turns hilarious when Justine hires a party planner from church, and Run systematically shoots down her elaborate designs.
Conflict also boils up among the kids when Angela fails to invite her siblings to the bash. In the end, everybody comes to the party, and Run saves the biggest surprise for last when he hands Angela the keys to her graduation gift, a cherry-red Mercedes Benz. | | Guest Stars: Funkmaster Flex as Himself
| 2 :01x02 - The Bird And The Bees (Oct/19/2005) | Run invites an emerging hip-hop band, Union Turnpike, to the house to strategize their pitch to Russell Simmons' new music label.
Faced with a home full of testosterone, Justine, Vanessa and Angela escape to Manhattan for a luxury spa getaway. The only favor Justine asks of her husband is that he gives Diggy and Russell a talk on the "birds and bees." Run wants to avoid the whole subject, and his internal conflict leads to extremely funny conversations with the boys.
Run and Union Turnpike travel to Russell's Phat Farm headquarters, where Russell gives the band members an eye-opening education in "not being idiots." The meeting inspires Run to lead by example in teaching his sons how to deal with the opposite sex, and all the Simmons men are dressed to the nines when Justine and the girls return home to a joyful reunion.
| 3 :01x03 - Chicks Fly The Coop (Oct/27/2005) | Run's blood boils upon finding that his backyard pool house has become filled with family junk. He vows to clean it out, which unleashes conflict with every family member who wants to hang onto some possession.
Vanessa and Angela also hope to "clear out," and confess to Justine that they plan to share an apartment in Manhattan. Run gives the girls his blessing, but predicts they'll ultimately stay put. With eyes bigger than their budget, the girls tour some of NYC's most glamorous real estate. But when reality hits, they're forced to see what their money will actually buy, and it's not pretty.
Meanwhile, trash haulers arrive at the house to help empty the cabana, and Run and Justine battle hilariously through the entire process. In the end, the pool house is clean, the girls decide to stay home, and once again all is right with Run's world.
| 4 :01x04 - Go For The Gold (Nov/03/2005) | Run often talks about how much he loves to win, but it's not until we see his family compete against one another that we understand that the drive to dominate runs thick in the Simmons blood.
Big brother Russell Simmons gets schooled by Run in a brutally funny half-court match. Later, an intense round of bowling, the family decides to settle their lingering disputes through an organized series of competitions.
The Simmons Olympics will encompass basketball, swimming, and a footrace, not to mention a healthy dose of trash talk. The goal: to determine once and for all the true champion of the household.
| 5 :01x05 - Justine Diets and Angela Interns (Nov/10/2005) | After overindulging, Justine decides to go on a diet. Determined to make it work, she enlists the help of a personal trainer. At the same time, Jojo is expecting his report card from summer school any day now, and his immediate future lies in the balance.
On the girls' side of Run's House, Angela starts an internship at Baby Phat under the watchful eye of her inimitable Aunt, Kimora Lee Simmons.
Tension builds as Justine struggles through her workouts, Angela sweats through her first day on the job, and the mailman arrives with Jojo's report card.
In the end, all three manage to make out a victory, with Jojo passing his classes, Angela getting a promotion, and Justine shaking her "booty-licious" behind at her cynical spouse Run.
| 6 :01x06 - Run's Family Vacation (Nov/17/2005) | When Vanessa gets a call from her Ford modeling agent to do a fashion shoot in Colorado, Run decides that bringing the family along for a summer vacation would be the perfect adventure to share before school starts.
Run insists it will be a "family vacation," but once they arrive at the mountain resort he realizes that keeping everyone together will be anything but easy.Determined for his family to enjoy shared experiences, Run drags everyone through a series of outdoor activities in which they discover just how far the Rockies are from their home turf of New Jersey.
While the kids enthusiastically take to the mountains, Run is leveled with a bout of altitude sickness. The episode ends with a family dinner in which everyone recalls the highlights of their summer, and of our first season of Run's House.
