Popstars: The Rivals: Open Auditions - 1
Davina McCall hosts the first episode of Popstars: The Rivals. The judges are introduced for the series and they are Pete Waterman, Geri Halliwell and Louis Walsh. Singers good and bad audition in front of the judges. Davina offers comfort to Danny who is told he has an amazing voice but the wrong image to be put through to the next round. The judges are shocked by Romanian twins, Gabriela and Monica. A huge row breaks out over performer Paul. Louis and Geri insist that he has to be put through to the next round but Pete says no. In the end Paul makes it through. Loads of Spice Girl fans show up to meet their idol including Mark who claims to be Geri's number one fan.

All performers had to be under 25 years of age.
All performers had to sing without backing music at the auditions.
The auditions were held at different venues all around the United Kingdom.
Each band is to have five members.
The male band is to be managed by Pete Waterman with the female band managed by Louis Walsh.
The series is hosted by Davina McCall.
If two judges agreed that someone should be put through to the next stage of the competition then they were put through.
All performers had to be over 16 years of age.
Pete wasn't happy that Paul Rose was put through.
Many people who auditioned for Pop Idol also audtioned again for this series.
Pete Waterman is also a judge on the Pop Idol series.
Geri's fans were thrilled to meet her.
The audition process was filmed during the summer.
The series is loosely connected to the Popstars series.
