Stefano travels around the district, ussually on his old push-bike, introduces us to the local people, tastes their food and wine, and, using only the finest seasonal produce of the Sunraysia district, demonstrates how to prepare utterly mouth-watering dishes. Combining classic Italian style, with modern Australian, and often Asian influences, Stefano creates truly superb, regional cuisine.
Stefano goes about his business with typically robust Italian humour and enthusiasm, and receives a warm welcome at all the homes and farmhouses he visits. People share with him recipes and knowledge handed down for generations.
This is Stefano's world, his gondola on the Murray, a world inhabited by people whose loves are life, food and wine. These are Australians from diverse ethnic backgrounds, whose parents and grandparents came to scratch a living from a land that has now become one of the leading food and wine producing regions in Australia.
