The 2006 Winter Olympics


It's the event the whole world will be watching. In Turin, Italy, the world meets for the Winter Games on the networks of NBC. The Winter Olympics include figure skating, skiing, curling, ice hockey, snowboarding, speed skating, and many more sports competed by men and women around the world. The games begin with the opening ceremony on Feburary 10th and closes out on Feburary 26th. CNBC and USA will carry mostly live coverage during the daytime and NBC will carry the main highlights and events of the day during primetime. Apollo Anton Ono makes his first appearance in the Winter Olympics since his controversial victory back at the Salt Lake games four years ago. Also, Michelle Kwan announced she has withdrawn from the Winter games due to a groin injury. NBC will make a tribute to her at the end of tonight's program. Other primetime highlights include short track speed skating, men's singles luge, and men's half pipe snowboarding.
