Episode Summary

The war comes to an end; however, the story doesn't for Major Sharpe. Major Ducos takes off with Napoleon's treasure but not before framing Sharpe for the theft and murder of two of the men guarding it. Richard is arrested but escapes custody in order to find Colonel Maillot, someone who knows of Richard's innocence, with Frederickson's help. Unfortunately the treachery doesn't end with the actions of Ducos as Richard's wife takes off for England, spends all his money, and sets up house with Lord Rossendale.
