Yugi follows the bolt of lightning that Mr. Muto's Summoned Skull had made during last episode. When getting to the area, Yugi finds Tea, Tristan, and his grandfather.
While around the campfire during the night, Joey drops in so now the whole group is back together. As Joey shows them the map he found in last episode, Tea notices that flowers have surrounded their campsite. It turns out to be Duel Monsters. Mr. Muto’s monster is too high of a level and can’t be summoned again so soon. They’re losing the fight, but with some quick thinking by Yami, they get away by making a large flash of light. While the monsters are blinded by the light, the gang runs.
The next day Joey and Tristan do a victory can-can dance, happy that they won the battle against those Duel Monsters. But now they're hungry. Mr. Muto has some snacks with him, though. But before they can enjoy the food, they realize that they're standing on a Island Turtle. When the turtle sees them, it starts to go underwater and the gang jumps off, into the water. There is a temple close to them and they swam over to it and go inside.
They have to defeat La Jinn to get past this part of the game and Yami decides to take him on by himself, worried that the others might get hurt, since you get hurt every time your Duel Monster does. But Yami's Celtic Guardian is no match for La Jinn.
Then a new monster enters the temple and freezes Tea and Mr. Muto. Joey and Tristan demands that Yami let them help him and Yami gives in. It's still not enough to defeat the two monsters, though, but then Yami realizes that if they time it just right, they could make the two monsters attack each other. The plan works and Tea and Mr. Muto thaw out.
A tablet appears and Mr. Muto reads it for them, since it's written in Hieroglyphics. They have to go to the “Fortress of Fear” before nightfall and the sun is close to setting. Joey takes out his map and they find where the fortress is.
