High And Dry was a comedy series broadcast on ITV in the United Kingdom written by Alan Sherwood and Michael Knowles. The series was set in 1946, shortly after the Second World War, and sees Ron Archer and his son trying to find the money to buy a decrepit pier for sale in the seaside town of Midbourne. The plan is to rebuild it and turn it into a commercial success. Ron's sister is married to the bank manager, so Ron is hoping he has an inside connection.
