A prequel to Last of the Summer Wine, the series are based on the diary entries of the young Norman Clegg. Each episode begins with him resting on his bedroom windowsill and greeting the day by saying "the diary of Norman Clegg, aged 18 years" as an intro to each episode.
Each episode involves the antics of Norman and his friends Bill 'Compo' Simmonite, Foggy Dewhurst, Seymour Utterthwaite, Sherbet and Wally Batty, all grapling with the world that surrounds them.
