This animated cartoon focused on a group on animals who originally lived in the Deep South, but had moved to a bigger Northern city.
The Colonel was a very sly fox. His best friend was Calvin who was a lovable, but not too smart bear. Maggie Belle was the Colonel's wife and Sister Sue was her little sister. Oliver Wendell Clutch was a weasel, who was also a lawyer.
The show was created and voiced by the same people who did the Amos 'n' Andy series of radio shows for many years. They felt that by using animals, it's would avoid what would be a very racial problem if the characters were humans.
