Morrison attempts to care for terrorist bomber Andrew Reinhardt, over the indifference of other staff members, while facing his own crisis of conscience. Stephen McAllister, husband of a seriously injured bombing victim, agonizes over her care and future. Mark Craig performs bypass surgery on a 40 year old who has trouble accepting how ill he really is. This is not helped by Craig's "surgeon's arrogance". To impress his girlfriend, Dr. Beale attempts to learn how to swim.
