Nurse Helen Rosenthal returns to work following her mastectomy, and is still adjusting to it. Several residents receive assignments for their first solo surgeries; Ehrlich's is invaded by a gun-wielding woman angry at the doctor who performed her husband's vasectomy a year ago - because she's pregnant! Fiscus visits his Aunt, who he hasn't seen in years, and brings her to the hospital for a tour.
Bob Lonicker: Listen, sweetheart... it's not Finnan's fault. I never got the damn vasectomy.
Victor Ehrlich: Oh, boy.
Barbara Lonicker: (very quietly) What?
Bob Lonicker: I never got it.
Barbara Lonicker: (waving a gun) You're gonna get it. YOU'RE GONNA GET IT!
Bob Lonicker: Barbara, don't...
Mark Craig: You sniveling coward! You pathetic lowlife! (Westphall starts to speak) No, no, no... do you know what he put her through? He claims a foul on Dr. Finnan and then he puts this whole operation in jeopardy! You know you've got a hell of nerve, buddy boy!
Barbara Lonicker: YOU'RE GONNA GET IT! YOU'RE GONNA GET IT!
Mark Craig: If a vasectomy is what you want, Mrs. Lonicker, a vasectomy is what HE'S GONNA GET! You got any problems with that, Lonicker? (Lonicker shakes his head)
Barbara Lonicker: You'd better do it right.
Mark Craig: Lady, that's the only way I do it!
