Episode Quotes
(Cody is busy writing on the typewriter)
Dana: Hey Cody, what are you doing?
Cody: Oh, I'm working on a 40's style mystery for my creative writing course.
Dana: (reading what Cody wrote) I woke up one morning and found that my socks were horribly mismatched.
Cody: Yeah, I love the idea. But I don't think I got enough for a novel yet. You know, I need something with a little suspense with a little intrique. Some kind of mystery.
(Karen comes into the kitchen)
Karen: OK, Dana, where's my diary?
Dana: How am I supposed to know?
Karen: Well someone took it. I left it on my dresser and now it's gone.
Cody: WOW, that's a perfect idea for my 40's mystery. The case of the Missing Diary.

JT (as Buddy Rimshot): I tell ya my mother-in-law is so fat when she wears yellow people think she's a school bus.

JT (as Buddy Rimshot): Thank you, you're a great audience. Now I know why they call it a depression.

Cody (as Sam Spud): Coco's your daughter!
(everyone gasps)
Cody (as Sam Spud): Your daughter!
(everyone gasps)
Cody (as Sam Spud): Your daughter!
(everyone gasps)
Cody (as Sam Spud): (laughs) I love doing that.
Frank (as Frankie the Tuna): How'd you find out?
Cody (as Sam Spud): I checked your automobile insurance; you had her put down as a second driver. Now nobody would put a teenaged girl down as a driver on their insurance, unless she was your daughter!
(everyone gasps)
Cody (as Sam Spud): Your daughter!
(everyone gasps)

Cody (as Sam Spud): What can I do for you, Miss?
Karen (as Kitty): Meow, Kitty Meow.
Cody (as Sam Spud): Kitty Meow? WHAT were your parents THINKING?

Frank (as Frankie the Tuna): Well, three's a crowd.
Carol (as Honey Dew): I thought it was 'three's company.'

Cultural References
Frank: Oh, I get it. Three's a crowd.
Carol: I always thought three's company.

This is a reference to "Three's Company", the show Suzanne Somers previously starred in as well as the spinoff, "Three's A Crowd".

Cody: Hey, I feel like that old babe on "Murder, She Wrote".

"Murder, She Wrote" was a successful show starring Angela Lansbury who was a famous mystery writer who happened to solve murders.

Madonna: The famous pop queen was referenced by the "Professor" when talking about how many finger prints were found on Kitty Meow's diary. Saying there were more finger prints on it than Madonna.
