Following the success of NBC's Golden Girls, CBS launched a new show, with the absence of Bea Arthur, featuring the other three cast members owning and operating a Miami hotel, thus Golden Palace. The Golden Palace is a popular hotel in Miami, and with the absence of Dorothy, its time for Blanche, Rose and Sophia to move on. Joining them in hotel operations is the experienced manager, Roland and the zany chef Chuy.
Fans of Golden Girls shouldn't worry too much, still packed with Blanche's oversex drive, Rose's bubbly stories and Sophia's wisecracks, the girls shine more than ever with their biggest change of scenery ever. Unfortunately, due to poor ratings, CBS cancelled the series after only one season.
From August to September of 2005, The Golden Palace was rerun on Lifetime (home of ratings-heavy "Golden Girls") after overwhelming requests from viewers.
Blanche's new boyfriend wants to marry her and she accepts, but the only reason is because he wants to have a kid with her, however she needs someone to give her an egg. So Blanche turns to Rebecca for an egg, however the idea is stopped because Bobby Lee, is sterile. Meanwhile, Roland and Chuy agree to teach a self defense class for Sophia and her friends.
