The classic Erle Stanley Gardner character Perry Mason, fresh off the landmark TV series starring Raymond Burr, returns, with Monte Markham as the crusading lawyer and Sharon Acker as his secretary, Della Street.
Monte Markham is the new Perry Mason, and the long-lived courtroom drama is now "The New Perry Mason," airing on CBS.
"Perry Mason." In the formidable personage of Raymond Burr, was an outstandingly successful series on CBS where it appeared each week from 1957 to 1964. It still continues in syndication both in the United States and overseas. "Perry Mason" was also a radio series far 14 years, starring the late John Larkin as Mason. The series continues its formula of setting up a puzzling mystery, with the identity of the true culprit withheld until the dramatic finale — and -Mason always being firmly convinced of the innocence of his client. Harry Guardino costars as Mason's courtroom adversary, Hamilton Burger, district attorney of Los Angeles; Sharon Acker is Mason's secretary, Della Street: Albert Stratton plays private detective Paul Drake; Dane Clark is Lt. Arthur Tragg of the Los Angeles homicide squad; and Brett Somers portrays Gertrude, Mason's receptionist.
