The Powers of Matthew Star

This series deals with the adventures of Matthew, an alien prince and his tutor, Walt Shepherd.The planet Quadris was invaded in 1966, and its ruler, Matthew's dad, assigned the care of his infant son to the family's best friend, Walt Shepherd. The two Quadrisians escape to Earth, where still chased by some nasty aliens, they have drifted from town to town, without disregarding Matthew's education. Shep directs and cultivates his royal powers: Matthew uses telekinesis and telepathy.
Finally the alien duo settles into a new location, a town called Crestridge, when Shep considers Matthew has developed his powers and can face his enemies. Matthew finds a love interest at the local high school.
