Vincent Price guest-stars as a former horror movie star trying to make a comeback in "Black Day for Bluebeard." The film festival honoring a faded horror-movie star ends tragically when his wife is found dead in the audience. Tammy Grimes guest-stars as Price's wealthy wife, who was about to divorce him. Other guest stars are Roddy McDowall as the murdered woman's cousin; Mort Sahl as a booking agent; and David Huddleston as a lawyer.

appearances in guest-starring roles. Pidgeon portrays Keith Follette, a former suitor of Gwen, and Evans plays a judge. Ernesta Snoop (Helen Hayes) and Gwen are about to appear on the talk show with basketball star Willie Bates (Bernie Casey) when the athlete becomes violently ill, shortly after being given on antacid pill by Gwen.
