The Waltons: The Calling

When Mary Francis, the Baldwin sister’s young cousin comes to stay with them for a while, she soon befriends Jim Bob when he is able to get the kite she was flying out of a tree. Not long after that happens, they begin dating. As soon as Corabeth learns about the new romance, she becomes shocked, because Mary Francis is not a Baptist and will soon be joining a Catholic convent. It doesn’t take long for Mary Francis to begin to doubt if she is making the wrong decision. However, all it takes is a visit from two nuns from the school she will be attending to make Jim Bob see that Mary Francis’ calling is just like his dream of becoming a pilot and accepts the girl’s decision to become a nun. Meanwhile, when Ben hires a new worker to help out at the mill, he soon finds that the man is an alcoholic and has to let him go when he attempts to destroy the mill.
