TNT is producing six original films for its new Mystery Movie Night, starting Nov. 29 with Scott Turow’s “Innocent.”
A sequel to Turow’s bestselling novel-turned-movie thriller “Presumed Innocent,” “Innocent” stars Pullman as Rusty Sabitch (played by Harrison Ford in 1990′s “Presumed Innocent”), a judge charged with the murder of his wife 20 years after he was cleared in the death of his mistress. The film also stars Marcia Gay Harden as Rusty’s wife and Alfred Molina as Rusty’s friend and defense attorney.
Nov. 30 will feature the premiere of “Ricochet,” which stars John Corbett as Detective Sgt. John Hatcher, who while investigating a corrupt judge (Gary Cole), becomes romantically involved with the judge’s wife (Julie Benz).
Also on the Mystery Movie Night slate are “Hide” (Dec. 6), a thriller based on Lisa Gardner’s book about a Boston Police detective (Carla Gugino) who discovers the mummified remains of six missing young women in an abandoned mental hospital; and “Silent Witness” (Dec. 7), a legal drama based on Richard North Patterson’s novel about a prominent defense attorney (Dermot Mulroney) who returns to his hometown to defend a teacher friend (Michael Cudlitz) accused of murdering one of his students.
The Mystery Movie Night series wraps up in December, starting with “Good Morning Killer” (Dec. 13) — a thriller based on April Smith’s novel about a special FBI Special Agent Ana Grey (Catherine Bell) tracking down a serial kidnapper. The criminal, however, changes his pattern when Grey befriends his latest victim.
The holiday-themed “Deck the Halls,” based on Mary Higgins Clark’s series of mystery novels, premieres on Dec. 20. The TV movie brings together two of Clark’s most popular characters for the story about cleaning-woman-turned-private eye Alvirah Meegan (Kathy Najimy) teaming with Det. Regan Reilly (Scottie Thompson) to investigate the kidnapping of Reilly’s father. (Source: TNT)
