Episode Quotes
Flint: There's a town.
Thomas: What's wrong with that?
Fint: I didn't know there was one there.

Flint: Every man in this town is a thief.

Mayor: Drink first, Mr. Thomas?
Thomas: After what you charge for water, I doubt if I could afford your whiskey.

Violet: What'll she do if she finds out about me?
Thomas: If you ever tell her I'll kill you.
Violet: What if she finds out all by herself and she leaves you? You gonna kill her too? You sure gotta lot of killin' to do.

Maggie: You think Zeke has secrets from me?
Violet: Well, honey, if he doesn't, he should.

Mayor: (to Violet) After you spent your life goin' down the wrong road, why try to turn around?

A critic once stated that guest star Gary Merrill was "the poster boy for uninteresting actors" and that's pretty much the way things go here in this episode. We don't really care one way or another about Merrill or Janice Rule, the two leading guest stars here. Secondary guests K. T. Stevens and Harold J. Stone do better but not enough to lift the episode completely.
