Episode Quotes
Helen: Whit, I don't wanna stay here.
Whit: Of course you do, honey

Whit: We need each other more than ever now.
Helen: Yes we do but not here.

Janet: Chris, I'm tired of homecomings. So tired that this will be the last one.

Hale: A house raising is a wonderful American custom. I hope it never disappears from this land.

Hale: (to Helen) My family perished so that others might live and they died in vain only if there are no others. Others like you.

Helen: (to Whit) I told you I wasn't gonna stay out here with no neighbors so I went and found me some.

Episode Goofs
In this episode Chris Hale states that he's been heading wagon trains for 10 years but in The Christopher Hale Story he said he'd been doing it for 20 years.

The major flaw in this episode is the actor who plays Chris Hale's son. The kid is such a doofus that you almost want to applaud when a Native American arrow strikes him in the back. Otherwise, the episode is fine.
