BBC mini-series of Leo Tolstoy's classic novel about Russia during the Napoleonic wars. The series aired in 20 installments during the 1972-73 television season. It aired the following year on PBS in the United States. A pre-Hannibal Lector Anthony Hopkins starred in the lead role as Pierre Bezukhov.

After Napoleon withdraws his army, Moscow gradually returns to life again. Pierre tells Maria that he's fallen in love with Natasha but isn't sure that she'll ever be able to get over Andrei.
